The areas surrounding the Reserve and the Rawla encompass a variety
of landscape including deciduous jungle typical of the Aravalli
hills, grand rock formations and multiple streams criss crossing
their way into a kilometer long freshwater reservoir.
A little further out are flat lands suitable for farming, the gently
undulating catchment areas of seasonal streams, and several lakes
that retain water through the monsoons and winter months, attracting
the largest variety of migratory birds in the district.
On the periphery of the Reserve are tiny settlements of farmers,
cattle herders and tribals with whom we work closely to encourage
sustainable development.
A unique combination of habitat that makes a thriving ecosystem and
bio diversity hot spot.
